Petite Knit Fortune Sweater - Knitting Pattern / Kit
The Fortune Sweater is worked seamless from the top down with raglan increases on the yoke. The sleeves are three-quarter long. The sweater is worked in stockinette stitch with a clover eyelet pattern. First, the neck edge is worked in rib, then folded double and knitted together. Next, short rows are worked to shape the neckline. At the same time as the short rows and raglan increases are worked, the clover eyelet pattern is worked – take care to place the clover pattern correctly, so it is symmetrical and comes together correctly under the armholes. Read through the entire yoke section of the pattern before beginning to knit.
Size guide
The Fortune Sweater is designed to have approx. 15-25 cm [6-10 inches] of positive ease, meaning it is designed to be 15-25 cm [6-10 inches] larger in circumference than your bust measurement. Before deciding which size to knit, measure around the widest part of your bust using a measuring tape. Add 15-25 cm [6-10 inches] to this measurement (depending on how loosely or tightly you prefer your Fortune Sweater to fit), and then select the size that comes closest to this number. Example: You measure yourself to be 95 cm [37½ inches] around the bust. Adding 15-25 cm [6-10 inches] to this number gives you 110-120 cm [43½-47½ inches] (95 cm [37½ inches] chest circumference + 15-25 cm [6-10 inches] positive ease = 110-120 cm [43½-47½ inches]). Size M with a bust circumference of 114 cm [45 inches] fits right in the middle of this interval.
