On Toadstool Lane Series is made using a combination of wool felt, embroidery threads and different grades of cardboard. The method used to create them was inspired by the crafts Jennifer saw and knew as a child. No sewing machine is necessary and only very basic hand stitches, predominately blanket stitch are used.
The set is very playable and is a magnet to children. The cap of the toadstool house removes easily and can be set aside so young hands can reach in. The windows are generous as well to allow for furniture to be arranged and domestic mousey scenes to be glimpsed through. Every child who touches the set wants to settle the mice into their beds or sit them in their chairs by the table.
