Light, soft and beautifully lustrous, Primo Tynn Silk Mohair is Sandnes Garn's premium alternative to Tynn Silk Mohair. Made from 75% Super Kid Mohair and 25% silk with no added wool, it creates an exceptionally light fabric with a soft halo and elegant sheen. Knit it on its own for an airy finish, or use it as a second strand with another yarn to add softness, warmth, texture and depth of colour.

About Primo Tynn Silk Mohair

Primo Tynn Silk Mohair takes the qualities knitters love about Sandnes Garn Tynn Silk Mohair and offers them in a more premium fibre blend. Primo contains 75% Super Kid Mohair and 25% silk, compared with the blend of mohair, silk and wool used in regular Tynn Silk Mohair.

The higher proportion of fine mohair gives Primo its characteristic softness, warmth and airy halo, while the silk provides strength and a subtle lustre. With no added wool, it's also an interesting option when you specifically want a mohair and silk blend.

Perfect as a Second Strand

Primo Tynn Silk Mohair works beautifully as a second strand held together with another yarn. It can add a soft halo and extra warmth to a smooth merino yarn, introduce more depth to a colour, or transform the texture and feel of a familiar knitting pattern.

You can also knit Primo on its own for an exceptionally light, airy fabric. Your needle size and tension will depend on the fabric you're trying to create, which is why the recommended gauge covers a broad 18–24 stitches per 10cm.

With approximately 212 metres in each 25g ball, this fine yarn also offers generous meterage for its weight.

Care

Primo Tynn Silk Mohair can be machine washed at 30°C using a wool programme. Dry flat and always follow the care instructions on the yarn label.

When using Primo as a second strand, follow the most delicate washing instructions of all the yarns in your finished project.
