Love this lamp! I've attached it on the extension table of my sewing machine, and angled it over my work area (I'm short on table space). It provides ample light to help me see and work easier (without compromising space). The light itself comes in two parts that you (very easily) put together, (or take apart for travel, a bag is included) the 'clip' section and the rest of the light. It has a normal USB to 'c' wire which is very, very long (great for me). The attaching 'clip' is a screw type, that you tighten to attach, the 'clamps' of which have some protective pads. I've only used the light plugged into a power source, but the option of wire free use is a great.
