Cross Stitch chart S33 from Ink Circles

Chart only - materials not included

This piece was made as an homage to the antique weavings made in Sumatra called Tampan or ship cloths. They were used in various ceremonies and contained all sorts of motifs that were symbolic of the important things in these peoples' lives. This design is not a reproduction of one specific cloth, but more a collection of Ink Circle's favorite bits from dozens of examples. They have tried to remain true to the spirit of these fantastically elaborate weavings.
It's a big chart, with a fully populated menagerie along with all types of humans and plants.

Stitch count is 341 x 421 with 61,537 stitches.

Estimated thread needed for 1 ply of floss over 2 on 40 count is 95 yards of 6-ply such as DMC, or 48 yards of 12-ply such as Gloriana.
