The William Morris Gallery houses the world’s largest public collection of William Morris’ work. Founded in 1950, this award-winning museum explores Morris’ lasting influence on art and design, environmental sustainability, and democratic access to the arts.

May Morris (1852–1938), the younger daughter of William Morris and Jane Burden, was a pioneering figure of the Arts & Crafts movement. A leader in the revival of art embroidery, she drew inspiration from medieval artefacts and the natural world, managed the Morris & Co. embroidery business for over a decade, and created distinctive wallpaper prints and jewellery designs.

Created in partnership with the William Morris Gallery, Liberty’s Craft Garden collection honours May Morris’ legacy as both an artist and a working female professional. Drawing on original embroideries and artworks from the Gallery’s archives, the collection celebrates the artistry, symmetry, movement, and flowing detail of the Arts & Crafts style that helped define Liberty’s early history and remains one of its most iconic design pillars.
