Inspirations Issue 127 - Delicious Stitches

In this issue we introduce the first in a series of three goldwork knot gardens by Tania Cohen, each featuring a different metal thread colour.

We also present a beautiful project showcasing Aemilia Ars, a style of Italian needlelace, for the first time, with a delicate design surrounding a linen square by Di Kirchner.

You will also find projects utilising crewel embroidery, blackwork, stumpwork, silk ribbon and threadpainting, as well as a cute little box with surface embroidery.

‘Inspirations Issue 127’ features the following projects:

  • Daffodowndilly by Brenda Sortwell - Superb stumpwork study of a uniquely patterned flower carefully matched with fennel and a gleaming beetle
  • Spotted Wood Kingfisher by Renette Kumm - Threadpainted study depicting the unique plumage of this forest bird
  • Aemilia Ars by Di Kirchner - Elegant edging for a linen square utilising an Italian needlelace technique
  • Gardening with Gold by Tania Cohen - Exquisite panel showcasing goldwork techniques, the first of a series of three parterre designs
  • Honeycrisp Apple by Christine Burton - Three-dimensional pincushion with a colourful and contemporary approach to blackwork
  • Just Resting by Susan Casson - You can almost hear the fairy wrens sing in this stumpwork scene worked over a painted background
  • Easter Surprise by Ana Mallah - Pretty flowers adorn each side of this delightful gift box
  • The Moth Di van Niekerk - Stumpwork and silk ribbon add lively dimension to a botanical print
