I bought the Kiwi 3 for my birthday present in September 2025. I've been trying to learn to spin for a couple of years on single treadle wheels. I have cerebral palsy and couldn't get the hang of single treadle wheels but as soon as I put the Kiwi together, I was off! I'm not saying I was an expert straight off, but my skills improved almost straight away. It was easy to put together, except the hub pin for connecting the wheel had burs and I had to get a bit of help with that bit. I'm extremely happy with the wheel and it's performance, except for the built in lazy kate. When plying, you have to be careful where you put the threads, as the right hand thread can get tangled in the conrod crank. I have ordered a separate lazy kate to solve the problem. I definitely recommend this wheel, but I know people who have bought the Kiwi and the extra treadle doesn't work for them. So it's really up to you to decide if this is the right wheel for you. Happy Spinning!
